Jayantha Dhanapala has been elected as the new President of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs. The Pugwash Council, meeting in Bari, Italy, unanimously elected Dhanapala on the occasion of the 50 anniversary of the first Pugwash Conference.
